How to Set Up IPTV on Samsung Smart TV (2026 Guide)

Learn how to watch IPTV on Samsung Smart TV using Smart IPTV, SSIPTV, and external devices. Step-by-step 2026 guide for all Samsung Tizen models.

Compatible IPTV Apps for Samsung Tizen OS

Samsung Smart TVs run Tizen OS, which limits available apps to those approved for the Samsung App Store. Unlike Android TV, you cannot freely sideload apps on Samsung TVs. However, there are reliable methods to watch IPTV on your Samsung set.

The two best native options are Smart IPTV (SIPTV) and SSIPTV. Both are available in the Samsung App Store on models from 2016 onwards. Alternatively, you can connect a Firestick or Android TV box via HDMI for the most powerful IPTV experience. All methods work with VIP IPTV Club subscriptions.

Method 1: Smart IPTV (SIPTV) — Recommended

Smart IPTV is the most popular and reliable IPTV app for Samsung TVs. It requires a small one-time licence fee after a trial period, but the feature set justifies the cost.

  1. Press the Home button on your Samsung remote
  2. Navigate to the Apps section (bottom of the home screen)
  3. Search for Smart IPTV or SIPTV
  4. Install and open the app
  5. Note your TV's MAC address shown on the Smart IPTV welcome screen
  6. On your computer or phone, visit the Smart IPTV website (siptv.eu)
  7. Enter your MAC address and paste your VIP IPTV Club M3U URL
  8. Click Upload, then return to your TV and press the Reload button in Smart IPTV
  9. Your channels will load within 30–60 seconds

Method 2: SSIPTV — Free Alternative

SSIPTV (Smart Simple IPTV) is a free alternative to Smart IPTV with no licence fee required. Setup is done directly on the TV without needing a computer.

  1. Install SSIPTV from the Samsung App Store
  2. Open the app and go to Settings → My List
  3. Select Add playlist and choose Remote URL
  4. Use the on-screen keyboard to enter your M3U URL from your welcome email
  5. Name the playlist and save
  6. Tap Update to load your channels

Method 3: Firestick or Android TV Box (Best Experience)

For the richest IPTV experience on your Samsung TV, connect an Amazon Firestick or Android TV box to any HDMI port. These devices run full Android TV operating systems with access to TiviMate, IPTV Smarters, XCIPTV, and all other top IPTV apps.

Simply plug the Firestick into your TV's HDMI port, switch inputs, and follow our complete Firestick IPTV setup guide. This method gives you the most app options, best EPG support, and access to 4K HDR streams.

Adding Your VIP IPTV Club Playlist

For Smart IPTV and SSIPTV, your playlist is your M3U URL provided in your VIP IPTV Club welcome email. This URL contains your entire channel library of 20,000+ channels. Always copy-paste the URL rather than typing it manually to avoid errors.

If you need your M3U URL resent, contact VIP IPTV Club support and we will send it immediately.

Configuring EPG on Samsung TV

For Smart IPTV: add your EPG URL on the Smart IPTV web panel alongside your M3U URL. After adding it, reload the app on your TV and the programme guide will populate automatically.

For SSIPTV: go to Settings, find the EPG section, and enter your EPG URL. Trigger a manual update. EPG data will appear on supported channels within 60 seconds.

Troubleshooting Samsung TV IPTV Issues

App not in App Store: The Samsung App Store varies by region and TV model year. If Smart IPTV or SSIPTV are not available, use Method 3 (external Firestick). Models older than 2016 may not support these apps.

Channels loading but video black: This is usually a codec compatibility issue. Try the other app method, or connect a Firestick which supports a wider range of video codecs including H.265/HEVC.

EPG not showing: Ensure your EPG URL was correctly added and the app was reloaded after adding it. Some Samsung TV apps cache old EPG data — clear the app cache in Settings and try again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Samsung TVs from 2016 onwards running Tizen OS support Smart IPTV and SSIPTV from the App Store. Older models may not have access. If your TV is not supported, connect a Firestick or Android box via HDMI.

Smart IPTV offers a free trial period. After the trial, a small one-time licence fee is required per TV. SSIPTV is completely free and works well as an alternative.

TiviMate is not available for Samsung Tizen OS. It only runs on Android TV and Amazon Firestick. To use TiviMate on your Samsung TV, connect a Firestick or Android TV box to the HDMI port.

Some channels use video codecs (H.265, AV1) that Samsung Tizen apps cannot decode natively. Switching to an external device like a Firestick usually resolves codec compatibility issues.

It is the unique network identifier of your Samsung TV, shown on the Smart IPTV welcome screen when you first open the app. You enter this on the Smart IPTV website to link your playlist to your specific TV.
