TiviMate Complete Setup & Configuration Guide 2026

The definitive TiviMate setup guide for 2026. Configure playlists, EPG, recordings, favourites, and advanced settings on Android TV and Firestick.

How to Install TiviMate

TiviMate is available for Android TV and Amazon Firestick. It is one of the most polished IPTV applications ever built, and learning to configure it properly unlocks an exceptional streaming experience.

Installing on Android TV or Android Box

Open the Google Play Store on your device, search for TiviMate IPTV Player, and install it. You will also want to search for and install the TiviMate Companion app if you plan to purchase Premium features. The Companion app handles the Premium subscription activation.

Installing on Firestick

TiviMate is not on the Amazon Appstore, so you will need to sideload it. First, install the Downloader app from the Amazon Appstore (search for it directly). Then open Downloader, go to tivimate.com and download the APK. Install it when prompted. See our Firestick IPTV setup guide for full sideloading instructions if this is your first time.

Adding Your VIP IPTV Club Playlist

When you first open TiviMate, you will be greeted with the playlist setup wizard. This is the most important step — getting your channels loaded correctly.

  1. Tap Add playlist on the welcome screen
  2. Choose your connection type. VIP IPTV Club supports both options:

Option A: M3U URL

Select M3U playlist and paste your M3U URL exactly as it appears in your welcome email. Do not add spaces or modify the URL. Give the playlist a name (for example, "VIP IPTV") and tap Next. TiviMate will fetch all channels.

Option B: Xtream Codes API

Select Xtream Codes API and enter your portal URL, username, and password. This method also loads your VOD library and series under separate tabs, giving you a Netflix-like content library alongside live TV.

After the playlist loads, you will see your channels organised by group. On a first load with 20,000+ channels this can take 60–90 seconds — this is normal.

Configuring EPG (Electronic Programme Guide)

The EPG gives TiviMate its killer feature: a full TV guide showing what is currently airing and what is coming up next across all your channels. VIP IPTV Club provides an EPG URL in your welcome email.

  1. Go to Settings (gear icon in the top-right corner)
  2. Navigate to Playlist and select your VIP IPTV Club playlist
  3. Tap EPG and paste your EPG URL
  4. Set Update interval to 12 hours
  5. Tap Update EPG now to load schedule data immediately

Within 60–90 seconds, every channel with EPG data will show the current programme and upcoming schedule. On the main channel screen, you will see a timeline at the bottom showing what is on each channel throughout the day.

Organising Your Channels

With 20,000+ channels in your list, organisation is essential. TiviMate gives you powerful tools to build the perfect channel layout.

Creating Favourites

Long-press any channel name to open the channel menu. Select Add to favourites. Your favourites list becomes its own group that appears first whenever you open TiviMate. Build a short list of your most-watched channels here.

Hiding Unwanted Groups

Go to Settings → Playlist → Groups. You will see every channel group in your playlist. Uncheck any categories you do not want to see — for example, if you only watch English channels, you can hide all other language groups to dramatically reduce clutter.

Sorting Channels

Within each group, you can sort channels by name, number, or drag them into a custom order. Long-press a channel and select Move to reposition it in the list.

Configuring Playback for Best Quality

TiviMate's default settings work well for most users, but tuning the player settings can significantly improve your experience.

  1. Go to Settings → Player
  2. Set Video decoder to HW+ (Hardware Accelerated) — this uses your device's dedicated video chip for smoother 4K playback
  3. Increase Buffer size to 10 seconds if you experience occasional stuttering on fast streams
  4. Enable Deinterlacing if you see horizontal lines or flickering on SD channels
  5. Set Reconnect attempts to 5 so the app auto-recovers from brief stream interruptions

Recording Live TV with TiviMate

TiviMate Premium allows you to record live television to a USB storage device connected to your Firestick or Android TV box. This is one of the most powerful features TiviMate offers.

  1. Connect a USB drive to your device (FAT32 or exFAT format recommended)
  2. In TiviMate, go to Settings → Storage and select your USB drive as the recording location
  3. To start a recording, long-press a channel and select Record
  4. To schedule future recordings, open the EPG, navigate to a future programme, and long-press to schedule it

Recordings are saved as MP4 files and can be played back directly within TiviMate under the Recordings tab.

TiviMate Premium — Is It Worth It?

TiviMate Premium is activated via the separate TiviMate Companion app (available on the Play Store). A Premium subscription costs a small annual fee and is absolutely worth it for regular users. Premium features include:

  • Multiple playlists (switch between different IPTV providers)
  • DVR recording to USB storage
  • Catch-up TV support (watch past broadcasts)
  • Parental controls with PIN protection
  • Panel customisation and skin options
  • Archive / time-shift functionality

TiviMate Tips, Shortcuts and Hidden Features

After using TiviMate for a while, these features will significantly improve your daily experience:

  • Catch-up TV: Long-press a channel to see past broadcasts from the last 7 days (where supported by the IPTV provider)
  • Picture-in-Picture: Press the back button while watching and TiviMate minimises to a small floating window
  • Number pad navigation: Type a channel number directly on your remote to jump to it instantly
  • Last channel toggle: Press OK/Enter to jump back to the previously watched channel, just like a traditional TV
  • Channel info overlay: Press OK while watching to see the full EPG info bar without interrupting playback
