What is IPTV Catch-Up TV?
Catch-up TV allows you to watch programmes that already aired — typically from the last 7 days — on demand. Instead of needing to record a show, catch-up automatically archives recent broadcasts so you can watch them whenever you want. This feature is available on many channels in VIP IPTV Club.
Using Catch-Up in TiviMate
TiviMate Premium supports catch-up on channels that offer it. To access:
- Open your channel list and long-press on a channel that supports catch-up (usually indicated by a clock icon)
- Select Catch up from the context menu
- Browse the programme archive using the calendar view
- Select any past programme to start playback
Alternatively, access catch-up from the EPG view by navigating to past time slots and pressing OK on a completed programme.
Using Catch-Up in IPTV Smarters
IPTV Smarters Pro has a dedicated Catch Up tab at the bottom of the main screen. Tap it to browse available catch-up content. Channels are listed along with their archived programme history. Tap any past programme to watch it.
Why Catch-Up is Not Available on All Channels
Catch-up TV requires additional server infrastructure to store broadcast archives. Not all IPTV channels support this feature. Channels that typically offer catch-up include major US and UK broadcast networks, news channels, and popular sports channels. The availability is determined by our upstream providers and the specific channel's licensing terms.
Time-Shifting vs Catch-Up
Time-shifting (also called Time Shift) allows you to pause and rewind live TV within a small time window (usually 1–4 hours). This is different from catch-up which covers past days. TiviMate Premium supports time-shifting — in player settings, configure the time-shift buffer duration to your preference.
Frequently Asked Questions
Catch-up availability varies by channel, but typically covers the past 3–7 days. Some channels offer up to 14 days of catch-up. Check your specific channel's history in TiviMate or IPTV Smarters to see what is available.
Yes, TiviMate Premium is required to access catch-up features in TiviMate. The free version does not include catch-up. IPTV Smarters Pro includes catch-up in its free version.
Greyed-out catch-up means that specific channel does not have catch-up support. This is a provider-side limitation and cannot be changed by your IPTV app settings.
No. Catch-up is for recently aired live TV programmes. VOD (Video on Demand) is a curated library of movies and TV series that can be watched any time, not tied to a broadcast schedule.
Downloading catch-up content for offline viewing is not supported by most IPTV apps due to content licensing restrictions. You can watch catch-up streams while online but not download them.
