What is IBO Player?
IBO Player is one of the most beginner-friendly IPTV applications available. While advanced apps like TiviMate and XCIPTV offer extensive customisation, IBO Player strips IPTV back to its essentials: a clean channel grid, fast playback, EPG support, and a setup process that anyone can complete within two minutes.
IBO Player supports Xtream Codes API and M3U playlists, making it fully compatible with VIP IPTV Club subscriptions. It is available on Android phones, Android TV boxes, and Amazon Firestick — and it is completely free.
Installing IBO Player
On Android Phone or Tablet
Open the Google Play Store on your device, search for IBO Player, and tap Install. The app is small and downloads quickly even on slow connections.
On Android TV or Android Box
Open the Play Store on your Android TV, search for IBO Player, and install it. If IBO Player does not appear in the Play Store on your TV, you can sideload the APK by downloading it from the IBO Player website using a browser or file transfer.
On Amazon Firestick
IBO Player requires sideloading on Firestick. Enable Apps from Unknown Sources in Developer Options first, then use the Downloader app to install the IBO Player APK. See our Firestick setup guide for complete sideloading instructions.
Activating IBO Player with Xtream Codes
Xtream Codes is the recommended connection method for IBO Player as it gives you the richest experience including live TV, VOD, and series all in one place.
- Open IBO Player — you will see a login screen immediately
- Select Xtream Codes as your connection type
- In the Host / URL field, enter the server address from your VIP IPTV Club welcome email
- Enter your Username in the username field
- Enter your Password in the password field
- Tap Login or Connect
IBO Player will verify your credentials and load your channel list. This typically takes 15–30 seconds. Once loaded, you will see your channels organised by category in a clean grid layout.
Adding an M3U Playlist to IBO Player
If you have an M3U URL rather than Xtream Codes credentials, IBO Player supports this too:
- On the login screen, select M3U Playlist
- In the URL field, paste your M3U link from your welcome email
- Add a name for the playlist
- Tap Load or Connect
Note: With M3U, you will only get live channels. The Xtream Codes method also gives you access to your VOD movie and TV series library.
Navigating Your Channels in IBO Player
Once connected, IBO Player displays your channels in a grid view organised by group categories. Here are the key navigation tips:
- Category switching: Tap the category names on the left panel to switch between channel groups (Sports, News, Movies etc.)
- Search: Use the search icon in the top bar to find specific channels by name
- Favourites: Long-press any channel and select Add to Favourites. Access your favourites list from the left panel
- Info overlay: While watching, tap the screen to see the current programme info and a mini EPG
- VOD Library: If connected via Xtream Codes, switch to the Movies or Series tab using the bottom navigation bar
Setting Up EPG in IBO Player
IBO Player supports EPG to show what is currently on and what is coming up on each channel. For Xtream Codes connections, EPG typically loads automatically alongside your channel list.
For M3U connections, or if EPG is not loading automatically:
- Go to Settings (gear icon)
- Select EPG Source or Programme Guide
- Enter your EPG URL (provided in your VIP IPTV Club welcome email)
- Tap Save and then force an EPG refresh
Once loaded, you will see the current programme title displayed below each channel in the grid, and a timeline view is available when you select a channel.
Troubleshooting IBO Player
Cannot Log In / Invalid Credentials
Check that you are entering credentials exactly as provided — these are case-sensitive. Ensure no extra spaces were added when copying. If your trial has expired, visit VIP IPTV Club pricing to upgrade to a full subscription.
Channels Load but Video Does Not Play
Some channels may use codecs that the default player struggles with. In IBO Player Settings, switch the video player from the default to ExoPlayer or try VLC mode. This resolves playback issues on the majority of problem channels.
Buffering on Fast Channels
Increase the buffer size in Settings if your connection allows. Also check whether buffering occurs on all channels or just specific ones — if it is specific channels, those streams may have temporary issues. See our full buffering fix guide for comprehensive solutions.
