MAG Box Overview
MAG boxes are dedicated IPTV set-top boxes manufactured by Infomir. Unlike Android TV boxes or Firesticks, MAG devices run a custom Linux-based OS designed specifically for IPTV delivery. They are popular among users who want a plug-and-play IPTV experience without managing apps or interfaces.
Common MAG models include the MAG 254, 256, 322, 420, 524, and 525. Each has slightly different hardware capabilities, but the setup process is largely the same. MAG boxes use a portal-based system rather than M3U or Xtream Codes — you simply enter your portal URL and the box handles everything else.
VIP IPTV Club provides MAG-compatible portal URLs. Start a free trial to test the service on your MAG box before purchasing a subscription.
Finding Your MAG Box MAC Address
Your MAG box's unique MAC address is essential for activating your subscription. VIP IPTV Club uses the MAC address to link your subscription to your specific device.
To find your MAC address:
- Turn on your MAG box and go to the home menu
- Navigate to Settings → System Information
- Find the MAC Address field — it is a 12-character code in the format XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX
- Note this exactly and provide it to VIP IPTV Club when ordering your subscription
Alternatively, check the sticker on the bottom of your MAG box — the MAC address is usually printed there.
Setting Up Your Portal URL
Once your MAC address is registered with VIP IPTV Club and your subscription is activated, you will receive your portal URL by email. Here is how to enter it on your MAG box:
- From the MAG box home screen, navigate to Settings
- Go to Servers → Portals
- In the Portal 1 URL field, enter your VIP IPTV Club portal URL
- Leave Portal 2 URL empty
- Click OK to save
- Navigate back to the home screen and select Load Portal or restart the box
The MAG box will connect to the portal server and load your channel list. This usually takes 30–60 seconds on the first connection.
Navigating Your Channels
Once connected to your VIP IPTV Club portal, your channels are organised in the main menu. Key navigation tips for MAG boxes:
- TV Channels: Access your live channel list. Channels are organised by category in the left panel.
- Video Club: Access your VOD (Video on Demand) movie library.
- TV Series: Browse your TV series library organised by show and season.
- Favourites: Press the OK button on any channel and select Add to Favourites. Access your favourites from the top menu.
- Channel search: Press the Search button on your remote to find channels by name.
Setting Up EPG on MAG Box
MAG boxes typically load EPG data automatically from the portal. If the programme guide is not showing, go to Settings → System Settings → Time and ensure the correct timezone is set. EPG times are displayed in the local timezone you configure here.
If EPG is still missing after setting the timezone, navigate to Settings → STB Settings and force an EPG update. The programme guide may take 2–3 minutes to fully populate on first load.
MAG Box Remote Control Tips
- Channel up/down: Use the CH+/CH- buttons or the number pad to jump directly to a channel number
- Info button: Press while watching to see current programme details and an upcoming schedule
- TV Guide button: Opens the full EPG in timeline format
- FAV button: Toggles between your favourites list and full channel list
- Coloured buttons (Red/Green/Yellow/Blue): Perform context-sensitive actions shown on screen
Troubleshooting MAG Box Issues
Portal not loading / Authentication error: Ensure your subscription is active and the portal URL is entered correctly. The portal URL must be exact — contact VIP IPTV Club support if you are unsure of the correct URL for your device.
Channels buffering: Connect your MAG box directly to your router via ethernet. MAG boxes have ethernet ports and a wired connection is strongly recommended over Wi-Fi for stable IPTV playback.
Some channels not working: Certain channels may require specific MAG firmware versions to decode correctly. Ensure your MAG box firmware is up to date by going to Settings → Software Update.
Box freezes on startup: Factory reset by holding the power button for 10 seconds, then reconfigure the portal URL. Your subscription remains active — you just need to re-enter the portal URL.

No. MAG boxes use a different protocol called Stalker Portal. You need a specific portal URL linked to your MAG box MAC address. Contact VIP IPTV Club support to get your MAG portal credentials.
Go to Settings → Software Update and select Check for Updates. Ensure your MAG box is connected to the internet via ethernet before updating. The update process takes 5–10 minutes.
The MAG 424W3 and MAG 524W3 support 4K Ultra HD streaming. Older models like MAG 254 and 256 are limited to Full HD. For 4K IPTV, ensure your internet connection provides at least 25 Mbps.
